The Stuff We’re “Big On!” (Our Values)
God’s Word God is smarter than us, and we know it. The Bible is our text for teaching, manual for ministry, and our guide for daily life.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 – All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.
Spiritual Maturity We desire to “grow” until we “go.” Spiritual maturity is a lifelong pursuit that does not end in this life.
2 Peter 3:18 – But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Praying First Prayer initiates all great things. We are impotent to do anything of lasting value without God’s investment.
John 15:5 – Apart from me you can do nothing.
Energetic Worship God is so amazing we can’t help but be animated in his presence. We are excited about God and not embarrassed about expressing it in public worship.
Psalm 100 – Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth.
Worship the Lord with gladness;
come before him with joyful songs.
Know that the Lord is God.
It is he who made us, and we are his;
we are his people, the sheep of his pasture.
Enter his gates with thanksgiving
and his courts with praise;
give thanks to him and praise his name.
For the Lord is good and his love endures forever;
Relationships that Matter We urge our members to do life together. We all need help being our best selves.
John 13:34-35 – “A new command I give you: Love one another. As I have loved you, so you must love one another. By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.”
Contributing to Community We make life better for our neighbors. We are committed to helping people with their daily needs and partnering with other organizations to improve the quality of life in Austin and its surrounding communities.
Proverbs 19:17 – He who is kind to the poor lends to the Lord, and he will reward him for what he has done.
Galatians 6:10 – Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
The Power of Positivity We are positively charged! We expect great things from God and assume the best about his people.
Philippians 4:8 – Finally, brothers, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things.
Unnecessary Kindness We surprise people with kindness. Our goal is to make people feel important…because they are!
Romans 2:4 – Or do you show contempt for the riches of his kindness, tolerance and patience, not realizing that God’s kindness leads you toward repentance?
Fresh Ideas We’re not trying to be like other churches. We value trying new things even when they are risky.
Isaiah 43:18-19 – “Forget the former things;
do not dwell on the past.
See, I am doing a new thing!
Now it springs up; do you not perceive it?
I am making a way in the desert
and streams in the wasteland.
A Casual Atmosphere We don’t take ourselves too seriously. We love a good laugh, relaxed dress code, and the freedom to be who we are.
Romans 12:3 – For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the measure of faith God has given you.
