It’s not easy visiting a new church for the first time. Do I belong here? Am I really welcome? Will the people be unfriendly, or too friendly? Will they ask me to speak? Will it be easy to leave if I don’t enjoy it? Will they ask me for money? Will my kids enjoy it? How should I dress? Am I welcome if I don’t believe?
For our Very Important Guests (VIPs)…
When you arrive at GMZ for either our 8am, 10am or 12pm services, you’ll park in any parking lot or along the street and use the main entrance located on the west side of the main building. There are parking attendants and good signage to help you find your way. We also provide a shuttle service if you need transportation to church.
At the entrance doors, there will be some friendly people (we call them "greeters") to say hello, answer any questions you have, and direct you inside the building. When you enter the building you will be greeted by more friendly people (“ushers”) who will give you a bulletin with the week’s announcements and an agenda for the service.
We are casual...
When you visit GMZ, our dress is casual and comfortable. Please don't buy anything special to come worship with us. We want you to feel welcome and accepted for who you are.
Our style of music is contemporary...
We have a praise band and praise team that lead us in worship each Sunday. We sing contemporary songs but we also throw in a traditional song or two to keep a blend of the old and new.
Our teaching is relevant...
We offer practical biblical teaching that deals with real everyday life. The message will be based on the Bible, and Pastor Clark will often include interesting quotes from contemporary people, the latest news stories, or movies.
We want your kids to have fun...
If you have kids (infants – 6th grade) the ushers can point you to Promise Land, which is located on the second floor, and help you register your children. We’ve developed a good security system so you’ll know your kids are safe and well cared for.
We offer a Student Worship Service called W.O.W. 4:24. It is a Hip Hop service designed for students (7th grade -12th grade) so they can connect with God in a way they can understand. W.O.W. 4:24 is every Sunday at noon, except the 4th Sunday at the Carver Museum 1161 Angelina St.
Our service lasts about 1 hour and 30 minutes...
We want to worship together and encourage you to spend time with family and friends. The service usually begins with some upbeat music, followed by a prayer. There is usually some type of artistic element such as drama or dance to explore the theme of the day.
We’ll ask you to complete a guest registration form so Pastor Clark can send you a thank you letter for visiting with us on Sunday. We usually have more music and then Pastor Clark will speak for about 30 minutes. After Pastor Clark completes his message, he invites people to make Christ their leader.
Don’t sweat the offering...
Do not feel obligated to give in the offering. Our worship service is our gift to you.
Thank you for your interest!
